Privacy Policy

Summary

Poreia does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app has no network access, no user accounts, no analytics, and no third-party services. Everything stays on your device.

Data Collection

Location Data

Poreia records GPS data (latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and accuracy) while you are actively tracking. This data is:

• Stored locally on your device in the app's private documents folder
• Never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party
• Only shared if you explicitly export a track file and choose to share it yourself

Debug Logs

If you opt in to debug logging (Settings → Debug), the app writes log entries to a local file on your device. You separately control whether GPS coordinates are included in these logs or redacted. Disabling debug logging automatically deletes the log file.

No Other Data

Poreia does not collect or access:

• Your name, email, or any account information (there are no accounts)
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or crash reports
• Contacts, photos, calendars, or any other personal data
• Anything from the network (the app makes no network connections)

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device:

• Track files: Saved in the app's private documents folder in compressed JSON format (.gpstrack files)
• Exported files: Placed in the shared documents folder, accessible via Files app → On My iPhone → Poreia
• Debug logs: Stored as debug.log in the shared documents folder (if enabled)

You can delete any saved track from within the app. Deleting the app removes all stored data.

Data Sharing

Poreia never sends data anywhere automatically. The only way data leaves your device is if you:

1. Tap the share button and explicitly export a track
2. Share a debug log file

In both cases, you choose the destination through the standard iOS share sheet.

Third-Party Services

Poreia uses no third-party services. The app includes one third-party library, CoreGPX, which is used solely for generating GPX export files on your device. It makes no network connections.

Reverse Geocoding

When you save a track, Poreia uses Apple's built-in reverse geocoding (CLGeocoder) to look up a location name for the track's starting point. This is an on-device Apple system service. Poreia does not send location data to any non-Apple server for this purpose.

Children's Privacy

Poreia does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date. Since the app has no network access, it cannot notify you of changes—check this page to verify the current policy.
